Barun. Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi interacted with women associated with self-help groups under the National Rural Livelihood Mission at the Milkipur block headquarters. During this, the minister said that the government is going to make two crore women Lakhpati Didi next year. With the inspiration of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi, women in the entire country and state are being made self-reliant through self-employment.
He said that today women are becoming lakhpatis by joining various fields of employment. Women working as Swasthya Sakhi, Samuh Sakhi, Bank Sakhi, Krishi Sakhi participated in the Samvad program. During this, Samuh Sakhi Reena said that she has formed five groups. By joining her group, women are earning 30 to 40 thousand rupees per month.
Women put forth their problems before the Agriculture Minister. Bank Sakhi Renu Prajapati said that she was supposed to get honorarium for six months. She has received only five months’ salary. Health Sakhi Archana Singh said that her honorarium for 15 months is pending. Prem Kumari also complained about not getting honorarium. The Minister assured that the payment will be made soon. Minister of State for Food and Logistics Satish Sharma, BJP District President Sanjeev Singh and ADO Panchayat Surendra Rao were present in the program.
