Ayodhya - Birthplace of Lord Ram, epitome of spiritual reverence in India.

Ayodhya, known historically as Saketa, boasts a rich religious tapestry. Early Buddhist and Jain texts mention visits by Gautama Buddha and Mahavira, while Jain texts also claim it as the birthplace of five tirthankaras. The legendary Bharata Chakravarti is linked to the city as well. By the Gupta period, both Ayodhya and Saketa referred to the same location.

However, Ayodhya’s most popular association comes from the Hindu epic Ramayana. This epic portrays it as the birthplace of Lord Rama, making it the most revered pilgrimage site for Hindus among the seven sacred cities.
