By winning Ayodhya (Faizabad), which was a favourite seat of BJP in the Lok Sabha elections, SP has failed the BJP’s Ram Mandir issue. It has also changed the direction of future elections and indicated that the Ram Mandir issue is no longer there.
Talking on other issues will be the only way to win the elections. After the Supreme Court’s decision, along with the ground breaking ceremony of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple on August 5, 2020, the BJP also laid the foundation for the 2024 general elections.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi kept on reviving this issue by coming to Ayodhya from time to time. After the inauguration and consecration of the temple on 22 January, efforts were made to keep the heat of this issue alive by bringing leaders from every corner of the country here, but the public completely rejected all these efforts of the BJP.
The result was that BJP not only lost the prestigious seat of Faizabad, but also lost all the seats of the Mandal and many other major seats of Purvanchal. Various discussions are going on about the loss of other seats, but not being able to win the trust of the people of Ayodhya even after the construction of the temple gave birth to many questions.
