Ayodhya. Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University’s undergraduate even semester examination started on Friday in three shifts under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. On the first day, 1831 candidates out of 50600 were absent in the three shifts of the examination held at 464 centers in seven districts. For conducting the examination, on the directions of the University’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Pratibha Goyal, Controller of Examinations Umanath conducted a surprise inspection of Pracheta Bhawan of the residential complex in the first shift and Jhunjhunwala College in the third shift and took stock of the arrangements. Apart from this, he checked the operation of the CCTV cameras of the centers from the university’s control room.
On the other hand, exams were conducted in all three shifts at other centres including Saket PG College and Manucha Girls College of Ayodhya. Media in-charge Dr. Vijayendu Chaturvedi told that the BA, BSc BCom second semester exams were held from 07:00 am to 09:00 am. The second shift exam was conducted from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and the third shift was conducted from 02:00 pm to 04:00 pm at the centres. To conduct a cheating-free exam, the university’s flying squad conducted surprise inspections of the centres.
Effect of heat on exams
The effect of heat was visible on the graduation examination on Friday. Students who came to give the examination in the afternoon shift looked miserable. Anamika, a student who came to give the examination at the Saket College centre, said that the papers should have been over earlier. It is very difficult to leave the house in this heat. In the middle of the paper, one feels thirsty again and again and keeps sweating. Many students even left the paper because of the heat.
