Ayodhya. After the voting process for the Lok Sabha elections is over, the opposition parties are concerned about the security of EVMs. Surveillance is being done in three shifts of eight hours each in front of the strong room of the Government Inter College. For this, three passes have been issued to all the political parties and the agents of their candidates by the district administration.
After voting in the four assembly constituencies of Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency Rudauli, Bikapur, Milkipur and Ayodhya and Gosaiganj assembly constituency of Ambedkar Nagar parliamentary constituency, all the EVMs have been kept in the strong room built in GIC under special security cover. Special security arrangements have been made by the police and administration here. Despite this, political parties and their candidates have also been given permission to monitor so that they do not have any kind of doubt. Special passes have been issued for this to three agents each of Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and other parties including CPI along with independent candidates. These agents have been provided with shade and other basic facilities along with chairs to sit in the tent built by the administration in front of the strong room. A TV screen is also installed here. The feeding of the CCTV footage of the strong room is broadcast on it.
Regarding this, District Election Officer Nitish Kumar said that a completely transparent system has been made. If any political party has asked for more than three passes for agents, then that has also been given to them. He himself and all the AROs are regularly inspecting the strong room. Special security arrangements have been made by the police.
On the other hand, the agents of the opposition parties monitoring the strong room have not raised any questions about the security of EVMs. On the other hand, passes have been issued to the agents of the BJP candidate to monitor the strong room. When asked about this, former BJP city president Abhishek Mishra said that this is the arrangement of the Election Commission. Candidates of all political parties have the right to be satisfied about the security of EVMs.
