Ayodhya. By the end of this year the city residents will get the gift of ground parking. Under the State Smart City Scheme, work on this project costing Rs 8.40 crore is going on behind the District Jail. Awadhi food will also be made available by developing a street vending zone along with basic facilities.
Due to lack of adequate parking arrangements along with increasing number of vehicles in Ayodhya Cantt city, people have to face many problems. As a result of this, people are forced to park their vehicles on the roads along with Rampath and all other major routes. Due to this there is difficulty in transportation. Sometimes there is traffic jam also. Especially in major markets, people who come for shopping park their vehicles in front of the shops.
In order to provide some relief from this problem, the Municipal Corporation has started construction of ground parking. This parking being built behind the jail will cover many major markets. People will be able to park their vehicles here and go shopping. Municipal Commissioner Santosh Sharma said that small to big vehicles can be parked in this parking lot. Its total capacity is 330 vehicles. 120 buses, 148 four-wheelers and 62 two-wheelers can be parked here. This parking will also become a means of providing employment. Here food items can be sold in the street vending zone.
