Opd-ot Services Stopped, Patients’ Lives In Danger – Ayodhya News


Ayodhya. The doctors of the medical college, angry over the rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata, went on strike on Friday. The lives of many patients were in danger due to the stoppage of OPD and OT services. Emergency cases were somehow attended to, but about one and a half thousand patients who came from far-off places had to return disappointed without getting examined and treated.

After the murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, anger among doctors is increasing. Junior doctors of the medical college were protesting for the past several days. On Friday, senior doctors also joined them in their protest.

After two hours of registration in the morning, senior doctors saw patients in the departments of orthopedics, general surgery, and gynecology. After this, registration was also stopped and OPD services came to a complete halt.

At the same time, more than 20 operations, including eight in the orthopedics department and four in the general surgery department, were not performed. Patients who came to various departments for treatment with various problems were disappointed when they did not get treatment. Also, their pain increased.

He remained hungry till afternoon, operation did not happen

Ramesh Chand Maurya, a relative of Santosh Kumar who was admitted for a bone operation, said that he has been admitted in the hospital for four days. The operation was not being done every day due to some reasons. The operation was scheduled for Friday. The doctors had forbidden him from eating or drinking anything. The patient remained hungry and thirsty. Now suddenly it was told that the operation would not be done due to the strike.

I am feeling dizzy everyday, I am not getting any treatment

Yashoda Devi’s husband Parasnath Yadav, who came from Ayodhya, said that he is coming to the hospital everyday for his wife’s treatment. One reason or the other is that treatment is not being provided. Rekha’s husband Sanjay Gupta, a resident of Sadari, said that he came to the hospital due to thyroid and other problems but citing the strike, the slip was not made. Barwa resident Sukhram said that he was admitted for six days due to severe headache. He has to get tests and treatment done. He has been standing here since morning, but neither tests are being done nor treatment is being provided.

OPD services will remain disrupted: Principal

Medical College Principal Dr. Gyanendra Kumar said that OPD services will be affected on Saturday due to the strike, but all doctors have been instructed to keep emergency services running smoothly. After holding a meeting with faculty members, instructions have been given to remain available in the emergency at all times.
