Amidst the tussle regarding the by-election on Milkipur seat, on Sunday, SP MP Awadhesh Prasad presented his side and rejected BJP’s allegations outright. In a press conference held at the Press Club, he said that to postpone the elections, BJP deliberately did not follow the procedures for withdrawing the petition. For this reason the petition could not be rejected. Now BJP people are making misleading statements to hide their actions among the public, but the public is knowing everything.
He said that the court runs on the basis of rules and regulations. There are many procedures to withdraw the petition. When he resigned from the Assembly seat on 12 June and it was accepted on 13 June, the seat became vacant. This petition was filed regarding the Milkipur MLA, but when he is no longer an MLA, then in what capacity will he field a lawyer. If BJP was in favor of the election then they had to start the process of withdrawing the petition as soon as the seat became vacant. This has been done deliberately to postpone the elections.
He said that BJP tried its best to win the Lok Sabha elections. The army of many big leaders was deployed, but the public rejected them. Due to this, there was a lot of discussion about Ayodhya-Faizabad in the country and the world. BJP is scared of this and does not want to hold by-elections simultaneously. So that he can concentrate completely on Milkypur only and the system can be misused. BJP fears that if it loses the Milkipur by-election, it will not be left anywhere to show its face. But this time also the public has made up its mind to wipe out the BJP. On this occasion, SP District General Secretary Bakhtiyar Khan, Amit Prasad, President Sunil Yadav, Akhilesh Chaturvedi and others were present.
