Despite the construction of Ram Mandir, the Bharatiya Janata Party lost the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat. BJP was criticized a lot in the country and the world for this. Awadhesh Prasad, who was the MLA from Milkipur, has been elected MP from SP this time. In such a situation, this seat has become vacant, on which a by-election is to be held. SP has expressed confidence only in Awadhesh Prasad’s son Ajit Prasad. While BJP is still deliberating on the ticket, but BJP is preparing a strong strategy to take revenge of the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections by winning the Milkipur by-election.

CM Yogi has himself taken charge of this election. He has visited twice in a fortnight and now his third visit is also proposed. In this sense, this seat has become VIP in the state, on which the prestige of both the major parties is also at stake. While it is important for the BJP to save its face by taking revenge for the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, it is also a challenge for Awadhesh Prasad to establish his son in politics.

Till now BJP has won the election only twice

Mathura Prasad Tiwari became MLA from Milkipur assembly seat from BJP in 1991 during Ram wave. After this, BJP opened its account for the second time in 2017 and Gorakhnath Baba became MLA. On the other hand, Mitrasen Yadav became MLA from SP in 1996, Ramchandra Yadav in 1998, 2002 and 2004, and Awadhesh Prasad in 2012 and 2022. In this sense, SP is considered to have a strong hold on this seat.

Awadhesh Prasad will face CM

For the assembly by-election, SP has given the command of Ayodhya’s Milkipur seat to MP Awadhesh Prasad. CM Yogi Adityanath himself has taken the responsibility here from BJP. Awadhesh, while being an MLA from this seat, became MP by defeating BJP MP Lallu Singh in the last Lok Sabha elections. Along with Awadhesh, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Lal Bihari Yadav has been appointed in-charge of Milkipur. Apart from this, SP has also fielded big leaders for the preparations of by-elections on five other seats.

BJP’s preparations complete
