If we talk about the political and family background of the BJP candidate, his wife Kanchan Paswan has been elected as District Panchayat member with the highest number of votes in the district by getting 11,382 votes from Rudauli IV seat in the year 2021 elections. Before this, in the year 2015, Rudauli was elected as District Panchayat member with the highest number of votes by securing 8396 votes from Pancham seat. His father Baba Ram Lakhan Das was re-elected as village head in 2021. He is also associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
