Uttar Pradesh Water Power Minister Swatantra Dev Singh reached Ayodhya on Thursday, where he visited the Ramlala temple and prayed for rain for the good of the farmers. During this visit, he also informed about flood control, irrigation schemes, and government efforts to provide relief to the farmers.
Seeing the water crisis and the slowdown of the monsoon, the minister prayed to God for a balanced rainfall for the farmers of the state. Talking to the media, he said that he wished God that there should be good rain, farmers should be happy, return greenery in the fields. The government is standing with them on every front.
Flood projects fast, water being sent to canals
Swatantra Dev Singh said that the state government has launched 348 flood rescue projects keeping in mind the possibility of floods and droughts, out of which 250 have been completed, and work is going on fast. Water is being transported to 25 districts from the canals of Lakhimpur Kheri, so that farmers can irrigate the crop without depending on the monsoon. Mandakini of Chitrakoot was flooded for a few hours, after which the damage was done.
The minister also launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party. Taking a dig at Akhilesh Yadav’s meeting in the mosque, he said that the Samajwadi Party is only a family party. They have no policy, agenda or development approach. They want to come to power through communal polarization. He alleged that in SP rule, calls from leaders like Azam Khan used to come on the arrest of the accused of riots. Swatantra Dev Singh insisted that today there is a Yogi government in the state and the Modi government at the center, so every citizen is safe whether it is Hindu or Muslim. The rule of law is not appeasement.
