Many of the 99 children recovered from Ayodhya on Friday on suspicion of human trafficking had already been sent to Saharanpur, where in the name of studying in madrassas, they were made to work as laborers and were even beaten. The police have taken five clerics into custody and started interrogating them.
On Saturday, the children told Dr. Shuchita Chaturvedi, a member of the State Child Protection Commission, that Shabe Noor, a resident of Karhara village in Araria district of Bihar, is sending them to different madrassas. Children call Shabe Noor as Mamu. Along with Saharanpur, it also sends children to madrassas in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Aurangabad, Bangalore and Azamgarh. In return he gets a huge amount.
On Friday, Tausif, director of Darul Uloom Rafaqia Madrasa of Saharanpur and Rizwan of Dara Arkam, were taking the children by bus, who were freed from Ayodhya on Friday on the initiative of the State Child Protection Commission. The police have taken the five clerics found in the bus into custody and started questioning them, while the children were kept in the Mumtal Shelter in Lucknow. No one becomes a doctor by staying in a madrasa..the innocent child started crying
Even though the Maulvi may claim that the children were being taken to Saharanpur for religious education, the children have a different story. They do not want to go to madrassa. A 14 year old child clearly said that only religion is discussed there. Another child said that he wanted to become a doctor. How can anyone become a doctor after studying in a madrasa?
Primary school students, then why Madrasa?
The Child Commission team said that most of the children study in primary schools. In such a situation, why these children are being sent to madrassa is a big question.
