Ayodhya. Under the Amrit 2.0 scheme for water conservation, four ponds have been selected for renovation in the municipal corporation area. Approval has been given for the renovation of the ponds located at Banbirpur, Gaddopur, Palia Shahbadi and Kushmaha. The pond located at Banbirpur will be renovated first. Rs 13.59 crore will be spent on this.
Municipal Commissioner Santosh Sharma inspected the ponds located at Gaddopur and Palia Shahbadi on Friday. During this, he instructed to get the work of renovation of other ponds and lakes done soon by inviting tenders. In this scheme, along with the beautification of the pond, benches will be arranged for the convenience of the public. Construction of toilets and walking paths is also proposed. Municipal Commissioner said that the ponds and lakes of the city area will be developed as public recreational places for water conservation and convenience of the public. Chief Engineer Rajveer Singh and Junior Engineer Amit Jaiswal were present during the inspection.
