Fever and diarrhea wreak havoc, girl dies

Ayodhya. The scorching heat and strong sunlight are now wreaking havoc. A girl suffering from high fever and vomiting-diarrhea died due to this. Whereas, within four hours, seven children suffering from diarrhea, fever, stomachache etc. have been admitted to the district hospital. The medical ward has become full due to the outbreak increasing among adults and the elderly. Now these patients are being admitted to other wards.

Kishanlal, a resident of Mau Yaduvanshpur in Purakalandar police station area, took his one and a half year old daughter Riddhima to the district hospital on Tuesday evening at around 6:30 pm when she suffered from high fever and vomiting and diarrhea. At that time Riddhima’s body temperature had reached 104 degrees. She started having convulsions and diarrhea was also not under control. When pediatrician Dr. Shishir Srivastava admitted her and started treatment, the fever subsided by around 10 pm, but the condition did not improve. Meanwhile, the girl died at around 2 am.

On the other hand, Alok Gupta (11), son of Premnath, a resident of Sari in Inayat Nagar, suffered from vomiting and diarrhea and his family got him treated locally. When he did not get relief, they took him to the district hospital at 12:15 pm, where he was admitted. Seven children, including Ankur, two-year-old son of Arvind, a resident of Sarai Nasir in Rudauli, and Tabiz Khan (13), son of Mohammad Shakir, a resident of Tajpur Korda, were admitted to the hospital in the morning suffering from the same problems.

On the other hand, seven patients including Nariyawan resident Aman Srivastava’s wife Senu (38) and city’s Haiderganj resident Akash Vishwakarma (30) arrived at the emergency OPD between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. with problems such as vomiting, diarrhea, fever and stomachache and were admitted. As the 65-bed medical ward is full, patients are also being admitted to the general ward, reserve ward and Ayushman Bharat Yojana ward.

Do not ignore if children have fever

-District Hospital’s Pediatrician Dr. Shishir Srivastava said that do not let children go out in the sun. Do not ignore even a slight fever. Apply ice or cold cotton cloth repeatedly. If there is no relief, go to the hospital immediately. Avoid taking advice from medical store operators or getting treatment through the internet.

Doctors are sweating while taking rounds in all the wards

-Now that medicine patients are admitted in all the wards, physicians are sweating it out in taking rounds of the entire hospital. Due to this, they reach OPD late. They have to get up in between to see emergency cases, which is also affecting OPD.
