Ayodhya. More than 43,000 cases were settled in the National Lok Adalat organized by the District Legal Services Authority in the Civil Court premises on Saturday. Also, Rs 14.78 crore was recovered. However, due to server failure, the details of the cases settled in the virtual court could not be obtained till late evening.
District Judge Gaurav Kumar Shrivastava inaugurated the National Lok Adalat by offering garland and lighting the lamp. During this period various banks and insurance companies set up camps and settled the cases on the basis of compromise. MACT Court’s presiding officer Shesh Mani Tiwari settled 83 compensation cases. An amount of more than Rs. 5.63 crore was given as compensation to the petitioner. Advocate Gopal Krishna Mishra from the insurance company got compensation of Rs. 1.73 crore by settling maximum 22 cases.
Additional Sessions Judge EC Act Rakesh Kumar got settlement done in 16 cases of electricity theft, 6 civil cases from the court of Civil Judge Sadar, 46 from Family Court and 26 from Principal Family Court. After the settlement, six couples agreed to live their marital life again. Whereas in 20 family cases the parties withdrew saying they did not want to fight the case further. In the court of Family Judge Alpana Saxena also 20 cases ended on the basis of settlement. Three couples were sent off to live together happily.
FTC First Court Judge Pradeep Kumar Singh settled the six-year-old case between Shriram City Union Finance Limited and Akash Singh and ended it. Akash Singh voluntarily deposited Rs 47,030 in the presence of branch manager Sanjay Sharma and Adarsh Singh. A farmer resident of Kumarganj market had taken a loan of Rs 1.84 lakh in KCC account from Kumarganj branch of Bank of Baroda in the year 2018.
Due to poor financial condition, I was unable to deposit the amount on time. The matter was settled in the National Lok Adalat by depositing Rs. 75,000 on the basis of compromise. 22 cases of cheque bounce were settled in the Additional Court. 40 cases were scheduled for hearing here. On this occasion, Secretary/ADJ of Legal Services Authority Anil Kumar Verma, Judge of Motor Accident Tribunal Sheshmani Tiwari, Judge Shailesh Kumar Tiwari etc were present.
