The Health Department had issued a tender on the Gem portal for the supply of 40 ambulances to serve the devotees during the Prana-Pratishtha ceremony. For this, five firms had agreed to work at different rates. But as per the data recorded on the Gem portal, two firms that were ready to supply at lower rates were disqualified and ambulances were supplied at a higher rate of Rs 10 lakh. One of the firms that was disqualified at that time also complained about this to the officials, but it was ignored.

When Amar Ujala published a news on this issue on 12th September titled Scam in Ambulance Supply Service, it created a stir from the district to the government. Apart from this, when irregularities were noticed in many other cases, the issue was raised prominently. Since the allegations were related to the scam, the Chief Minister also took cognizance of the matter. On 13th September the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sanjay Prasad sent a letter to the District Magistrate and has expected that after getting the case investigated, appropriate action should be taken against the culprits at the earliest and he will be informed. Along with this, the cutting of the news has also been enclosed with the order. When this order reached the district headquarters, there was a stir among the officers and employees of the Health Department.

Investigation could not be started on the complaint of the MLA till now

BJP’s Rudauli MLA Ramchandra Yadav had complained to the Chief Minister on August 2, alleging financial irregularities in the CMO office. The government directed the Additional Director to investigate the matter. On August 16, the Additional Director wrote a letter to the MLA to confirm his signature. The MLA also confirmed the signature. After this, only an investigation committee has been formed so far. Additional Director Dr. Sushil Prakash said that a finance and accounts officer was to be included in the committee. This is the reason for the delay. The investigation will proceed from Monday.
