Ayodhya. Paramhans Ramchandra Das and Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath…both were amazing personalities. Their aura was supernatural. They had a strong friendship. They had a firm resolve to build the Ram temple. They faced every difficulty together. They stood firm. They were adamant about achieving their resolve. The result is in front of us today. Ram Lalla is seated in Ayodhya. The unique beauty of Ram Nagri is spreading across the world.
When CM Yogi unveiled the statue of Paramhans Ramchandra Das on Wednesday, the relationship between Gorakshapeeth and Digambar Akhara got a new dimension. During this, the CM also narrated stories of friendship between Guru Avedyanath and Paramhans.
The relationship between Ramnagari and Digambar Akhara is not only till Avedyanath but it is strong from the time of his Guru Digvijaynath. Yogi has been visiting Digambar Akhara with his Guru since childhood. On many occasions, the CM has also said that after Gorakhpur, Ramnagari is his second home. There is a different story behind this.
The Ram Mandir movement gave a new dimension to the relationship between Gorakshpeeth and Digambar Akhara. When Mahant Avedyanath came to Ramnagari during the movement, he made his base in Digambar Akhara. During this time, his proximity to Ramchandra Paramhans kept increasing. The entire fabric of the temple movement revolved around Ramchandra Das Paramhans and Avedyanath.
Formation of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagna Samiti in 1984: Mahant Avedyanath formed Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagna Samiti in 1984. Through this, he brought all Hindu organizations and saints on one platform. On October 31, 1985, a Dharma Sansad was held in Udupi, Karnataka.
During this time, Mahant Avedyanath and Mahant Ramchandra Das Paramhans demanded that the lock of the mosque be opened so that the devotees could worship there. All India Sangharsh Samiti was also formed to take this demand forward. On February 1, 1986, when the judge of Faizabad ordered the lock to be opened, Avedyanath was in Ayodhya.
Gorakshapeeth and Digambar Akhara complement each other
CM Yogi said at the statue unveiling ceremony that Gorakshapeeth Gorakhpur and Digambar Akhara Ayodhya have been complementary to each other since 1940. Ever since Ramchandra Das Maharaj came to Ayodhya Dham in his childhood, he was attached to Gorakshapeeth. The Ram Janmabhoomi movement progressed under the guidance of the then Goraksha Peethadheeshwar Mahant Digvijaynath.
With the manifestation of Ram Lalla in 1949, Gorakshapeeth and revered saint Paramhans Ramchandra Das together took up the task of going to court against the then government’s attempt to remove the statue and from there taking this fight to the streets. The penance of revered saints bore fruit and the wait of 500 years ended.
Gorakshapeeth has played a major role in the Ram Mandir movement
Whenever the struggles and movements of 500 years will be mentioned regarding Ram Mandir, the role of Gorakshapeeth will always be mentioned. CM Yogi Adityanath’s guru Gorakshapeethadhiswar Avedyanath was a prominent face of the temple movement. He was the president of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagna Samiti.
After Mahant Avedyanath’s demise, till the time this movement continued, Yogi Adityanath also kept giving it momentum. He has always been saying that Ram Mandir is not an election issue, it is a mission of life for me. Construction of a grand temple on Ram Janmabhoomi and the consecration of the deity there was the last wish of CM’s guru Avedyanath, which he fulfilled.
