Ayodhya. Amidst the onset of winter in the district, symptoms of pneumonia have started appearing in children. Every day 10-12 children are arriving in the pediatric OPD of the district hospital suffering from pneumonia. Experts have advised to take special care of children’s health in the changing weather.

There is a change in the weather since Diwali. The sun becomes bright after ten in the morning and the humidity remains high at night. At the same time, pollution has also increased due to fireworks on Diwali, construction work taking place at various places and other reasons. These changes are also affecting the health of children.

When the Amar Ujala team inspected the district hospital on Wednesday, its outbreak was clearly visible. By 12:30 pm, 85 patients had reached the pediatric OPD. Of these, about six-seven children had pneumonia-like symptoms. In the 12-bed pediatric ward, two patients were seen admitted suffering from pneumonia.

Pediatrician Dr. Anil Verma said that due to cold and heat, cases of viral fever, cold and cough etc. are not stopping in children. About 35-40 children are arriving in OPD daily suffering from these problems.

Vigilance is necessary regarding pneumonia: Dr. Anand Shukla

Dr. Anand Shukla, Head of the Pediatrics Department of the Medical College, said that pneumonia is caused by bacteria and viruses. Due to this, there is difficulty in breathing and cough starts. It spreads from one person to another through coughing or sneezing. Therefore, caution is necessary regarding this. Contact a doctor immediately if you notice symptoms like feeling tired, fast breathing, fast heart rate, sweating, feeling cold, skin, lips or nails turning blue. Vaccination of children is necessary for protection. Wash hands thoroughly before holding small children. Give nutritious food to children. Take special care of cleanliness.
