CBI is going to start an inquiry into a Rs 25 crore scam case in Ayodhya’s Cantonment Council office. The CBI sought permission from the Ministry of Defense to investigate the scam in the Cantonment Council. The CBI’s Anti Corruption Branch is going to start an investigation on the permission of the Ministry of Defense. According to sources, the officers and personnel of the Cantonment Council office invited tenders through the gym portal for supply of manpower and some goods. Senior SP leaders and former ministers Tej Narayan Pandey Pawan and Rahul Yadav had demanded an inquiry, alleging a scam of crores of rupees in it. In September 2024, the CBI Lucknow team raided the Ayodhya Cantonment Council office and also captured all the documents. Its investigation found evidence of mass scams and involvement of several officers and employees. After this, the CBI has started an investigation.
