After SP and BJP, Azad Samaj Party led by MP Chandrashekhar Azad has also declared its candidate for Milkipur assembly seat of Ayodhya. ASP has made Samajwadi Party rebel Santosh Kumar alias Suraj Chaudhary its candidate. This was announced by the party’s state president Sunil Chittor.

BJP announced its candidate for this seat on Tuesday and made Chandrabhanu Paswan its candidate. At the same time, Ajit Prasad, son of MP Awadhesh Prasad has been made the candidate from SP.
Dalit voters play a decisive role
Dalit voters have been playing a decisive role in Milkipur seat. In that too the Pasi community has the highest number. This is the reason why in the last several elections, SP has been successful by betting on the old and senior Awadhesh Prasad from the Pasi community. If we look at the statistics of electoral history, in all the elections since 1991 till now, BJP has won this seat only twice. That means politically, this seat is considered a SP stronghold.
