The youth who died in the custody of Uttarakhand Police in Ayodhya district had a heart attack. The police has made this claim after the post-mortem conducted by a panel of doctors late on Saturday evening. Bhaskar Pandey (32), a resident of Mahulani in Siddharth Nagar district, had come to take his LLB exam on Friday. Meanwhile, Rudrapur Police of Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand arrested him near Naya Ghat. When he was taken to the district hospital a little later, the doctors declared him dead.

A case of embezzlement of Rs 50 lakhs has been registered against Bhaskar in a company in Uttarakhand. The family of the deceased had accused him of murdering the youth in police custody. City Kotwal Ashwani Pandey said that the post-mortem report did not show any injury marks on the body of the deceased. The doctor has declared the cause of death as heart attack. The case is still being investigated.
