Due to the rise in the water level of the Saryu river, the threat of flood has arisen over hundreds of acres of land and population of about two dozen villages in Rudauli, Sohawal and Sadar tehsil areas.
The villages on the banks of the Saryu river are flooded every year. Permanent measures to prevent floods have not been taken.
In view of the rising water level of the Saryu river in Sohawal, the tehsil administration has alerted the villagers living in the lower areas. Boats have been arranged for the people affected by the flood. A team including a lekhpal has been deployed by the tehsil administration for the most affected village Manjhakala. The water level is rising, but there is no danger of flood yet.
