Keeping in view the Nautapa (nine days of heat), changes have been made in the attire of Lord Shri Ramlala Sarkar. At present, Ramlala is being dressed in light cotton muslin with traditional tie-dye method of Bandhej, Batik and Shibori handicraft. It has been prepared by 1500 Shram Sadhak women of clusters of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Coolers have also been installed to provide relief to Shri Ram Lalla from the scorching heat and changes have been made in the bhog according to the weather.
Lord has already worn a dress made of Kalamkari of Andhra Pradesh and world famous Pochampalli cotton fabrics of Telangana state. Along with this, cotton Jamdani of Bengal and Sambalpuri fabrics from Odisha are also being used in Lord’s upcoming dress. Manish Tripathi, who designs Lord’s dress daily from the day of Pran Pratishtha and sends it from Delhi, is engaged in this holy work with his entire team.
This dress is designed after constant contact and discussion with the temple administration and priests. In which proper attention is paid to the colors and weather of the day. Shri Ram Lala’s chief priest Satyendra Das Maharaj says that in view of the scorching heat, the weather is taken into consideration not only in the dress of the Lord but also in the offerings.
