The administration has made strict security arrangements in view of the possibility of gathering huge crowds of devotees to bathe in the Saryu river on Wednesday on Mauni Amavasya. This time SDRF, PAC and Water Police personnel have been deployed for security and monitoring for bathing.

On the Saryu coast, 20 SDRF personnel, 28 PAC jawans and 23 water police personnel will be deployed in three different zones, who will monitor the Sector War of the entire bathing ghat. Apart from this, three boats have also been deployed for security, which will make the devotees aware of loud hallr by patrolling in the entire area of one kilometer from 4 am to 8 pm.
To save the devotees, the water police will have equipment like ring, life jackets, rope and wood in the boat, which will help people drowning. Along with this, there has been a demand to put a trap on the old bridge, so that no person is a victim of untoward. Shailendra Awasthi of Raiganj has sent a memorandum to the Municipal Corporation on 25 January demanding immediate action on the issue.
Jetty is laid for a kilometer
However, the security personnel will have to be even more cautious due to the low water level on the Saryu coast. Jetty has already been laid on the coast for a distance of about 1 kilometer, which will not cause any difficulty in bathing. Water police in -charge Rube Pratap Maurya said that the devotees will be alerted by loud heller not to bathe in deep water and follow the safety measures.
