The work of giving international look to Ramkatha Museum is going on at a fast pace. The Culture Department has handed over the Ramkatha Museum to the Ram Mandir Trust. The Trust is beautifying the museum. In the same sequence, preparations are being made to shift 425 items of Gumnami Baba, which were preserved in the Ramkatha Museum on the orders of the High Court, to another place. The administration is also looking for a suitable place to shift these goods.

Shakti Singh, President of Subhash Chandra Bose National Thought Center, who is fighting a legal battle over the identity of Gumnami Baba, says that the Ram Mandir Trust is shying away from taking responsibility for the belongings of Gumnami Baba. According to him, the Trust says that the construction of the museum is for the display of items related to Ramkatha and Ramlila, Gumnami Baba’s items have no use for them. In such a situation, who will protect all the belongings related to Gumnami Baba (whom his followers considered Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose).
Shakti Singh says that the High Court had ordered in 2013 that Gumnami Baba’s belongings stored in a double locker in the treasury of Ayodhya should be kept in the museum. After this order, out of more than a thousand items taken out from the double locker, 425 items of Gumnami Baba were kept for display in two galleries of Ramkatha Museum, but those galleries are not open to the general public till date. Shakti Singh says that Gumnami Baba’s belongings are now unsafe in the Ramkatha Museum. He has also sent a letter to the DM and Principal Secretary demanding appointment of two security personnel and two Culture Department personnel for the security of the goods. He says that if the Trust is not preserving them then the administration should preserve Gumnami Baba’s belongings somewhere else.
Construction of four galleries is underway in the museum.
– Ramkatha Museum is being given an international format. Architects from IIT Chennai are preparing the script of the galleries. Documents related to the temple movement and the Supreme Court decision will be preserved in a gallery. While the remains found during the excavation will be kept in a gallery. Ramayana and Ramleela material of different languages will be preserved in another gallery. While a film on Hanuman ji based on Seven D technique will be screened in another gallery. The construction of all the galleries is likely to be completed by the end of 2025.
Chairman of Ram Temple Construction Committee, Nripendra Mishra said that I have no information about this. Since the construction of Ramkatha Museum will be based on Ramkatha. Therefore, it is possible that the administration may shift Gumnami Baba’s belongings somewhere else, this decision has to be taken by the administration. We are currently working on the beautification of the museum.
Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal says that the work of beautification of Ramkatha Museum is being done by Ram Mandir Trust. Due to construction work, shifting of Gumnami Baba’s belongings is being considered. For this, brainstorming is being done at places like Saket Sadan, Tulsi Memorial Building etc. Shifting of goods will be done safely.
