Ayodhya. Cyber thugs have now found a new way to cheat innocent people. Now people are being called and claimed that all the mobile numbers issued in their name will be closed due to complaints of criminal activities from their numbers. Money is also being demanded to avoid these actions. Police has appealed to be cautious of such calls.
Till now, cyber criminals used to cheat people by luring them with all kinds of offers like nude video calling, winning money in lucky draw, getting petrol pump license, booking a car etc. These were widely publicized and people became aware, so now the fraudsters have found a new way. They are trying to cheat people by calling and threatening them by claiming to be from telecom companies.
Many people in different areas of the city have fallen prey to this till now. However, till now people have acted wisely, due to which they have been saved from being cheated. City Kotwal Ashwini Pandey said that such cases have come to notice. However, the attempt of cheating has failed. Other people also need to avoid such fraudsters. Do not share your personal data by falling into anyone’s trap nor fall into any kind of temptation. Also inform about those who try to cheat you.
Trying to cheat like this
On August 31, a person living in the Darshan Nagar area of Kotwali Ayodhya received a call on his mobile phone. A woman in the other person’s voice said that the SIM card will be blocked in half an hour and the call was connected to a representative for more information. The person concerned claimed that another SIM card has been issued in the name of the victim and due to criminal activities being carried out using that SIM card, all the SIM cards issued in his name will be blocked in half an hour. When money was demanded to avoid this action, he became suspicious and informed the police.
