Arrangements made to prevent floods before the rise of Saryu and Ghaghra in Ayodhya

Even before the rise of Saryu and Ghaghra in Ayodhya, the district administration has made special arrangements for relief and rescue operations in flood affected areas. 14 flood refugees and 12 posts are being set up for the protection of 18 villages of Sadar, Rudauli and Sohawal tehsils. The water police have identified 150 boats, which will play an important role in rescue work during the flood. Tender process for distribution of relief materials and lunch packets in flood affected areas has also been started. Last year, floods in Ayodhya affected 14 villages. Majha Kala Village of Sohawal Tehsil, Rudauli Majha and the entire market of Sadar tehsil were the highest in floods. Special monitoring is being done in these areas. The Health Department has also prepared 35 medical teams and Veterinary Department to deploy 21 teams. These teams will ensure health services and animal care in flood affected areas. Tender process has started to provide relief material and lunch packets to flood victims. DM Nikhil Tikaram Funde and Executive Engineer of Flood Block Sanjay Kumar Singh said that 18 villages of three tehsils of the district, Sadar, Sohawal and Rudauli are affected by floods. Whatever embankments have been made are safe. Five projects are going on, which is towards completion. It is believed that these projects will be completed before the floods. Water Power Minister Swatantra Dev Singh has already visited Ayodhya’s possible flood area and has also given guidelines for flood control.
