Ayodhya. Five major roads of the city will be improved. For this, the Urban Road Infrastructure Development Agency (URIDA) has conducted a survey with the joint team of the executing agency and the Municipal Corporation. Not only will the appearance of these roads change, but many types of facilities will also be available. Municipal Commissioner Santosh Sharma also held a meeting with URIDA, other departments and the executing agency in this regard on Wednesday.
He told that in the Municipal Corporation limit area, from Bhikhapur intersection to Pulia of Pt. Deendayal Nagar ward, from Chungi intersection to TV Tower in the civil line of Atal Nagar ward, from District Magistrate residence to Nayyar Colony via Guru Gobind Singh Square Road, Sainik Kalyan Bhawan. The route from District Panchayat Office-State Bank Tiraha-SSP residence and from DM Office to Modha intersection has been selected in this scheme.
Under the scheme, utility ducts, footpaths, green zones, solar based street lights, bus stops, EV charging stations and pedestrian facilities will be provided on these routes. Cast effective roads will be built using environment friendly and modern technology with low carbon emissions. A maximum of 10 percent of the budget will be allowed to be spent on road improvements, pothole relief and other repairs.
In the first phase, approval has been given for the development work of five routes. Major roads wider than 10 meters have been included in this scheme. Chief Engineer Rajveer Singh, URIDA Deputy CEO Arvind Jain, SDO Anurag Gupta, Executive Engineer Mod Narayan Jha and Assistant Engineer Aastha Gupta were present in the meeting.
