The first phase of liquor shops was allotted through lottery under the Excise Policy 2025 in Ayodhya, UP. 365 liquor and cannabis shops of Ayodhya have been allotted through lottery. Excise Deputy Commissioner Sudhir Kumar said that 228 indigenous liquor shops, three model shops, 125 composite shops which will include English and beer. Along with this, nine cannabis contracts have also been allotted in the district. Liquor shops were allotted through e -lottery in the Gandhi auditorium of the Mandalayukta office. At the time of e-lottery, the contractors and their employees remained at the time of the Gandhi Bhavan. E Lottery was conducted under the supervision of Excise Deputy Commissioner Sudhir Kumar, DM Chandra Vijay Singh and SSP Raj Karan Nayyar. During this time the police also looked cautious.
