The strike was going on in front of the Chief Engineer’s Office. He was involved in that dharna every day. Suddenly he came into depression and committed suicide by hanging from the noose. The deceased Cantt was posted as a contract worker at the power sub -station. After committing suicide on behalf of fellow contract workers, colleagues paid silence at the protest site. District President of Electricity Mazdoor Sangh Jai Govind said that we have been dharna for the last 63 days. Nobody is going to listen to our words. Now if needed, we will collectively commit self -immolation in front of the Chief Engineer Office. Chief Engineer Ashok Chaurasia does not even meet nor tries to solve this problem. We should be given back the job of people, otherwise we will collectively commit self -immolation in front of the Chief Engineer’s Office. In fact, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation has removed about 500 contract workers in Ayodhya district. Since then, contract workers have been picketing.
