Silence has now spread in the Ram Ki Paidi complex which has become a picnic spot in the scorching heat. Devotees will not be able to take a dip in the Paidi till June 25. The reason is that the uninterrupted flow of Ram Ki Paidi has stopped. The silt cleaning work of the Paidi is going on, due to which the flow of the Paidi has been stopped. In the scorching heat, there used to be a continuous stream of people taking a dip in Ram Ki Paidi throughout the day, but now the devotees are getting disappointed after coming here.

Ram Ki Paidi has been a center of attraction for tourists and devotees visiting Ayodhya. Ever since Ram Ki Paidi has become uninterrupted, the number of tourists and devotees has been increasing. Till two years ago, Ram Ki Paidi used to look like a dirty drain.

In 2022, its remodeling work was completed at a cost of 40 crores. Earlier two pumps used to run, now the number of pumps has been increased to six. Due to which the flow of Ram Ki Paidi remains uninterrupted for 24 hours. Those who are unable to take bath in Saryu due to some reason, they also take a dip in Ram Ki Paidi because the holy water stream of Saryu flows in the Paidi as well.

Assistant Engineer of Saryu Canal Division Arun Kumar said that Ram Ki Paidi is cleaned once a year. Six pump canals have been installed to ensure uninterrupted water flow in the Paidi. Through these pumps, the water of Saryu flows into Ram Ki Paidi.

The pumps run throughout the year and this causes silt to accumulate in the pumps. Apart from this, silt also accumulates in the ghat. That is why the pumps are shut down once a year for cleaning the ghat. It was told that the cleaning work has been going on since June 11. The cleaning work will be completed by June 25.
