The message of ‘Those who have brought Ram, we will bring them back’ could not be realised in this general election and BJP lost the prestigious Ayodhya’s Faizabad parliamentary seat. Despite this, Ram Lalla saved the prestige of the saffron camp. In six out of seven booths in the Ram Mandir area, India Alliance’s SP candidate Awadhesh Prasad was far behind BJP candidate Lallu Singh.
Voters living in the area where Ram Mandir is located in Ayodhya Dham expressed more trust in BJP than SP. As a result, out of the seven booths where voters of this area exercised their franchise, SP had to face a crushing defeat in all except one. Booths were set up for the voters of this area at the Pre Madhyamik Vidyalaya Katra and Pre Madhyamik Vidyalaya Katra-2 polling centers.
In booth number 156 of Pre Madhyamik Vidyalay Katra, out of total 380 votes cast, BJP got 325 and SP got only 44 votes. In booth number 157, a total of 390 votes were cast. Out of these, BJP got 292 and SP got 94 votes. In booth number 158, out of total 307 votes cast, BJP got 243 and SP got 57. In booth number 159, 517 votes were cast. Out of these, BJP got 312 and SP got 185 votes. Similarly, in booth number 160 of Pre Madhyamik Vidyalay Katra-2, out of 349 votes cast, BJP got 251 and SP got only 93.
Out of the total 521 votes cast in booth number 161 of this polling centre, BJP got 234 votes and SP got 262 votes. This was the only booth where SP left BJP behind.
Lagging behind in the assembly constituency, all three MLAs saved their honour at their booth
The three assembly constituencies of Faizabad parliamentary seat which are included in Ayodhya district, Rudauli, Bikapur and Ayodhya, have BJP MLAs. In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has faced defeat from SP on these three seats this time. Despite this, all the three MLAs were successful in saving their face at their booths.
- BJP got 295 votes and SP got 269 votes at Rudauli MLA’s Ghatauli booth number 130. BJP got 460 votes and SP got 146 votes at Bikapur MLA Dr. Amit Singh Chauhan’s Maholi booth number nine. BJP got 458 votes and SP got 134 votes at Ayodhya MLA Ved Prakash Gupta’s MLML Inter College booth number 42.
BJP also won at the booths of the candidate and the mayor
BJP candidate and two-time MP Lallu Singh managed to win his booth despite losing the Lok Sabha elections this time. At booth number six of his primary and pre-secondary school in Sahadatganj, BJP got 304 votes and SP got 168 votes.
- Similarly, at Mayor Mahant Girish Pati Tripathi’s booth number 185, Primary School, Janaki Ghat North, the BJP got 349 votes and the SP got 241 votes.
