Young man killed on suspicion of theft

Gosaiganj (Ayodhya). A young man was beaten to death by two people on suspicion of theft near the canal located in Rajapur of Gosaiganj Kotwali area. Whereas, the other companion was left dead. On the complaint of the injured youth’s brother, the police have registered a case against two people including the home guard. This incident, which happened in broad daylight, has created a sensation in the area.

At around 2 pm on Sunday afternoon, two youths were found lying injured on the banks of a canal near a school in Rajapur village of Kotwali area. Local people informed this to the Kotwali police. Police took both of them to CHC Gosaiganj, where doctors declared a young man dead.

Another youth is undergoing treatment in critical condition. The deceased was identified as Rehan (32), son of Kasim, resident of Teliagarh of Gosaiganj town, and the injured was identified as Ashutosh Singh (30), son of Vedprakash Singh, resident of Ankaraipur. The family members who reached the spot expressed anger and demanded action.

Rupam Singh, brother of injured Ashutosh, said in the FIR lodged that area resident Anuj Yadav and home guard Dilip Yadav, along with their associates, beat his brother Ashutosh and his friend Rehan brutally with sticks, accusing them of theft. After beating his brother, they took him to Kishripur canal and left him dead.

The police have started investigation by registering a case against both the named accused under serious sections including murder, assault etc. After reaching the hospital, the statement of injured Ashutosh has also been recorded. Inspector in-charge Parshuram Ojha said that after registering a case, teams have been formed to arrest the accused. The case is being investigated.
