Spent money, took photographs and closed the medicine counter

Medicine dispensing room closed in the district hospital.

Ayodhya. A living example of wastage of money and weak willpower is the medicine distribution counter opened in the New Surgery OPD of the district hospital. In the name of providing convenience to the patients, those responsible spent money on making it. In order to garner applause, it was inaugurated by senior officials, photographs were taken and it was closed within a month. As a result, patients are forced to take medicines after a long struggle on the old pattern.

OPD of Medicine, Ortho and Psychiatry departments is running in the old building of the District Hospital. Whereas, OPD of General Surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology department runs in the New Surgery Building in front of the Blood Bank. There is also surgery and OT of ENT and ophthalmology department adjacent to it. Medicines are given to patients only at counter number four located in the old building. Due to this narrow space, one has to face difficulties in taking the medicine. To get rid of this, the then Chief Superintendent Dr. NP Gupta had spent a lot of money and built a new medicine distribution room in front of the Surgery OPD. On 25th February, the then Additional Director Dr. Pawan Kumar Arun formally inaugurated it by cutting the ribbon. The arrangement lasted for a few days and the patients also took advantage of the facility, but after the transfer of the Chief Superintendent and Additional Director, the services also came to a standstill. On Wednesday, this medicine distribution room was found locked.

Crying about lack of human resources

Chief Superintendent Dr. Arun Prakash Srivastava says that there is a shortage of human resources. Due to VIP duty every day, pharmacists have to go there also. The question was raised that even before it was built, there must have been a shortage of human resources, so why was it built at all? He replied that only those people should know about that time. It is not right to say anything about that. At present, efforts are being made to restart it through talks.
