84 Crores of 5,225 traders waived off under the amnesty scheme – Ayodhya News


Ayodhya. 5,225 traders of Ayodhya Zone of the State Tax Department have received a pardon of 84 crores under the Amnesty Scheme. Under this, there has been freedom from penalty and interest on depositing outstanding tax. At the same time, 4,551 traders could not take advantage of the opportunity.

All the nine districts of Ayodhya zone have about 70 thousand traders registered in the current year. Among them were 9,776 traders who had 180.77 crore tax left. It was fined Rs 179.32 crore and a fine of Rs 36.40 crore. In order to provide relief to them, the department started the Amnesty Scheme in the past.

Under this, interest and fine was to be waived for depositing tax of 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20. However, only those who did not file an appeal and withdraw the appeal were to get the benefit. Under the scheme, 5,225 traders applied in the entire zone. These included traders of Sambhaye AK 1611, BK 2123 and Gaanda. When he deposited Rs 61.88 crore, he got the benefit of forgiveness of Rs 84 crore. This included Rs 67.91 crore interest and a fine of Rs 16.33 crore.

Apart from Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkaranagar and Amethi districts come in Division A of Ayodhya Zone. The traders here have got the highest discount. Only 1611 traders applied here, who imposed 31.67 crore interest and 5.88 crore fine.

GST advocate Piyush Singhal said that this was the scheme for those who received notice under Section 61/73 of the CGST Act. Interest and penalty were not already paid any refund from it. This scheme of the government was to provide relief to the traders.
