So far more than 36,555 drivers have been challaned – Ayodhya News


Ayodhya. The Municipal Corporation has implemented Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) in the city. Modern traffic lights and high -tech cameras have been installed under this. This system is not only monitoring major places in the city but is also ensuring the action of automatic invoices against those who break the traffic rules. So far 36,555 drivers have been challaned.

The first phase of this 47 crore project was launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the year 2022. Under this, traffic lights have been installed at 20 major intersections of the city. The rules are being strictly followed here. The cameras installed at these intersections record signal breaking, overspeeding and not wearing helmets. Challans are issued based on this. So far, 36,555 vehicles have been challaned through this system. The cameras installed under ITMS are not only helpful in traffic management but are also strengthening the city’s security system. The data received from them is also helping the police in crime control and mob management.

The action of challan under ITMS started at the time of Ramlala’s life prestige. So far, challans of 36,555 drivers have been cut. If they are seen in the fine, then Yannin crore 66 lakh 22 thousand is being told. Out of this, only 12 lakh 35 thousand 700 rupees have been deposited.

Traffic lights have been installed at 20 intersections of the city under ITMS. The operation is currently being done at 14 places. Traffic lights are closed due to construction works on Sahadatganj bypass, Shanti Chowk, Saket Petrol Pump, Hanuman Cave and Devkali bypass.

Municipal Commissioner Santosh Sharma said that this system has reduced road accidents. Devotees coming to Ayodhya are getting the benefit of safe and systematic traffic. After its implementation, many areas have been freed from jam. This is the effort of the Yogi government to establish Ayodhya in the metropolis category. Traffic lights and camera footage is monitored from the control room in the water office of Amaniganj. People are also being made aware to follow the rules along with installing helmets.
