The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased the toll fee from five to ten rupees per trip. This will make the journey of highway expensive. The new rates of toll charges will be applicable from midnight of 31 March (April 1).

The authority issued a circular in this regard on Friday and informed about this. Project Director Saurabh Chaurasia said that vehicles will have to pay more tolls from the first day of the financial year 2025-26.
Toll sources said that this will affect more than 10 lakh small and big vehicles on the same route via Lucknow, Nawabganj, Barabanki, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Rae Bareli daily. The Authority collects toll charges at Nawabganj on Kanpur highway, Ahmedpur, Raunahi, Bara and Dakhina Sheikhpur on Ayodhya Highway.
