After the assembly by -election in Milkipur seat of Ayodhya in UP, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi has attacked the controversial statement made by SP President Akhilesh Yadav on the functioning of the Election Commission. He said through his X handle that Akhilesh’s statement is proof that his mental health is not good. They should immediately consult a good psychiatrist. He said that on February 8, the people of Milkipur will shroud on the ego of the SP chief.

Nandi said that how was the Election Commission which Akhilesh is describing dead, how was the same commission fair at the time of Lok Sabha elections? The elections of Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka and Jharkhand were also fair, but when a clear defeat in Milkipur started appearing, they are calling the Commission dead.

It is clear that the SP chief’s objectionable comment on the Election Commission shows his mistrust in democratic systems and constitutional processes. Nandi said that sometimes blaming EVMs, sometimes putting unrestrained attack on the Election Commission is actually a cowardly attempt to cover up its failure, inactivity and lost mass base.
