New Year was celebrated with reverence and devotion in the Ram city of Ayodhya. A large number of devotees started the New Year with the blessings of Shri Ram Lalla. From the banks of Saryu to the court of Shri Ram Lalla, the entire atmosphere echoed with Jai-Jai Shri Ram. Faith outweighed the fog and cold. The process of darshan-worship that started with Mangala Aarti of Ramlala continued till Shayan Aarti. More than two lakh devotees showed up till late evening. The devotion, devotion and enthusiasm of the devotees made Ayedhya a big center of spirituality.

Devotees were delighted to see the charming image of Ramlala in the golden crown and green clothes studded with gems. There was a desire to see Ramlala among the devotees and tourists who reached Ayodhya. The situation was such that there was about a two kilometer long line of devotees from Ram Janmabhoomi Path to Hanumangarhi Tiraha. The condition of the crowd was such that the devotees standing in the queue had to wait for one to one and a half hours for their turn to have darshan. As soon as the first morning of the New Year broke, Ramlala’s court started resonating with the shouts of devotees.
The temple opened at 6:30 in the morning, an hour before this the Darshanpath was filled with a crowd of devotees. As the day progressed the crowd of devotees also increased. Seeing the pressure of crowd increasing on Darshanpath by 11 am, the administration started sweating even in the extreme cold. SP Security Balramachari Dubey hurriedly opened the alternative route from Angad Tila to Shri Ram Hospital and started the evacuation of devotees through this route, only then the crowd on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Path could be controlled. Wherever railings were not installed, the crowd was stopped by installing barriers. Devotees were given darshan in groups.
