Maharaja Sir BP Singh All India Prize Money Hockey Tournament started with colorful programs on Thursday at the sports ground of MLK College. School children enthralled everyone by presenting a cultural programme. 14 famous teams of the country will participate in this tournament which will run till 30th December. The inaugural match of the tournament was played between the teams of Patna and Ghazipur. The tournament was inaugurated by the chief guest and Vice Chancellor of Adishakti Maa Pateshwari Government University, Prof. Ravi Shankar Singh did this by lighting the torch. He wished for the success of the tournament by releasing pigeons and colorful balloons symbolizing peace. The members of the organizing committee welcomed the guests with garlands and badge decoration. Principal of the college Prof. JP Pandey presented the outline of the tournament through welcome speech. NCC cadets presented guard of honor to the chief guest. The college students started the cultural programs by presenting Saraswati Vandana and welcome songs. Along with the college, students of Rishabh Sangeet Vidyalaya, Pioneer Public School and Grace Public School etc. enthralled everyone by presenting songs and dances. On this occasion, College Management Committee Secretary Retired Colonel RK Mohanta, Joint Secretary Brijesh Singh, Chief Organizer Raghavendra Singh, Organizing Committee Secretary Dr. Rajiv Ranjan, Dr. Alok Shukla, BSP leader Shaban Ali and Dr. Devendra Kumar Chauhan and many people were present.
