Gopashtami was celebrated with great pomp on Saturday in various temples and cowsheds of Ramnagari Ayodhya. On this occasion, Vishwa Hindu Parishad demanded from the Modi government at the Center to make provision for death penalty for cow slaughter. A large number of saints and mahants of Ramnagari performed cow worship in Anjani Goshala of Hanumangarhi.

Under the guidance of Indradev Mishra, VHP’s Central Joint Organization General Secretary Vinayak Rao Desh Pandey worshiped hundreds of cows in Vedic rituals on Gopashtami in Shri Ram Goshala of Karsevak Puram.

On this occasion, the Organization General Secretary of VHP said that the governments will have to demonstrate strong will to keep the cows safe. There should be a provision for death penalty for cow slaughter, only then this priceless heritage can be saved.

Cow based agriculture is our origin

Mahant Girish Das of Dadiya Temple described cow rearing as a sacred work and said that cow-based agriculture is our origin. In the past, we all considered cow service as service to Gods and Goddesses. After the mother, if anyone in the family gets the sacred place of milking, then it belongs to the mother cow. This is of most importance for the country.
