To create a world record in the Deepotsav, the volunteers took the first step on Saturday when the team of volunteers reached the ghats of Ram Ki Pauri chanting Jai Shri Ram. Volunteers have spread six lakh lamps on all the 55 ghats of Ram Ki Paidi on the first day. The work of laying 28 lakh lamps at all the ghats will be completed by the evening of 28th October.
The team of volunteers reached Ram Ki Paidi at 11 in the morning. The process of lighting lamps started by chanting Jai Shri Ram in Abhijeet Muhurta. Under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Pratibha Goyal, to make Deepotsav historic, under the supervision of Deepotsav Traffic Committee coordinator Prof. Anoop Kumar, four buses left for the Deepotsav venue with Jai Shri Ram slogans. The enthusiasm of the volunteers while laying the lamps is palpable. The volunteers kept busy in laying lamps while chanting the name of Jai Shri Ram. He said that the first Deepotsav after Pran Pratistha will be made grand.
Deepotsav Nodal Officer Prof. Sant Sharan Mishra said that for the grandeur of Deepotsav, the supply of lamps to 55 ghats has been completed. The work of laying lamps on the ghats has been started from Saturday. The work of laying lamps will be completed by October 28. On October 29, the Guinness Book of Records team will count the lamps. On October 30, the day of Deepotsav, the work of pouring oil in the lamps, placing the wick and lighting them will be done. He said that university campus, 14 colleges, 37 inter colleges and 40 voluntary organizations have been involved in this festival of lights.
Entry will not be allowed without ICard
Prof. Sant Sharan said that ID cards have been provided to all the volunteers. Along with this, T-shirts and caps have been distributed to them. Entry to the ghats will be prohibited without I-card, T-shirt and cap. Media in-charge Dr. Vijayendu Chaturvedi said that the work of laying lamps will speed up from Sunday. Private security personnel have been deployed to protect the lamps. The police administration is also fulfilling the responsibility of security.
