Ayodhya. Teachers, researchers and students of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University will now be able to become consultants of renowned companies, institutions and organizations. For the first time, a consultancy policy has been prepared and made effective for the residential campus of the university. This will increase the professional knowledge and efficiency of the teachers and researchers as well as generate additional income. The university will also have a share in this.
This policy has been prepared under the supervision of the Research and Development Cell of the University under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Pratibha Goyal. Such consultancy policy is usually implemented in Central Universities, IIMs and IITs and other big educational institutions. Now as a state university, its foundation has been laid in Avadh University as well. Till now, due to the absence of such a policy, many consultancy projects were rejected. Now this will not happen.
Science Dean and Chief Proctor Prof. SS Mishra, who was a part of the committee for deciding the consultation policy, told Amar Ujala that the most benefit of the implementation of this policy will be the Engineering Institute, Management, Environmental Science, Biochemistry and Microbiology departments of the university. Private and government sector institutions will be able to take consultation from experts in subjects related to these departments. This policy has been approved by the Executive Council. Its guidelines have been uploaded on the university website.
The university’s share will be 50% of the counseling fee
Prof. Himanshu Shekhar Singh, Head of the Department of Business, Management and Entrepreneurship, who was the coordinator of the committee for determining the consultancy policy, said that the university will sign an MoU with the company or institute that seeks a consultant. In return, consultancy fees will be charged from the concerned institute. The university will bear 50% of the share in this. While 30% of the amount will go to the concerned teacher and research scholar’s team. The university’s laboratories can also be used for this work.
The aim of the consultation policy is to provide professional advice and solutions to external institutions and organizations regarding their problems, which they are not able to solve on their own. Apart from the university, teachers and researchers will also benefit from this. They will be able to empower themselves financially along with making themselves professionally competent. – Prof. SK Raijada, Director, Research and Development Cell, Avadh University
