Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, who reached Ayodhya for the installation of Godhwaja and circumambulation of Ramkot, targeted the government on the issue of using cow fat and fat of other animals and fish oil in the Prasad of Tirupati temple.
He said that the religious work should be allowed to be done by the religious leaders. The religious leaders should also do the work of maintaining the temples. The government should end its control over the temples. He said that I appeal to all the saints and religious leaders of Ayodhya to stand up and take away the control of temples from the government. The temples should run according to the religious system. The religious leaders should take up this responsibility.

Shankaracharya said that whoever is guilty in the Tirupati Prasadam case, strict action should be taken against him. Harsh punishment should be given. It is objectionable that such things are being offered to God in the temple.
He said that in the Prana Pratishtha ceremony held in Ayodhya, three tons of laddus came from Tirupati temple which were distributed among the devotees of Lord Ram. People share the laddus and eat them. In such a situation, the substances present in the laddus went into the bodies of many people. People are hurt due to the destruction of the sanctity of the prasad.
