On 24 August 2023, a firm named Verma Enterprises was registered in Haidergarh with Central GST. Documents for running the establishment by renting a shop from a person named Ram Prasad, a resident of Alhadpur, were attached at the time of registration. Signatures of two witnesses were also taken by showing a rent of three thousand rupees per month. A person named Jitendra Kumar Verma, a resident of Shravasti, had got GST registration done to buy and sell junk from the firm.

After registration, this firm did a business of about 6.63 crore rupees in a year in different districts of Uttar Pradesh as well as in Uttarakhand, Haryana and other states. But tax was not being deposited to the department. In such a situation, when the departmental officials noticed this firm, last month the team of Deputy Commissioner of Tax Shriprakash Yadav reached the establishment to raid, but no establishment was found with this name. The tenant was also not found. The mobile phone number given at the time of registration was also found switched off. The Deputy Commissioner said that efforts are being made to find the establishment owner on the basis of the Aadhar card used at the time of registration. Additional Commissioner Grade-II RS Vidyarthi said that those who commit fraud in this way are being monitored. Legal action will also be taken against the person concerned if found doing any fraud.
