Ayodhya. The victim family of Sariawan village of Purakalandar has been sitting on a dharna in front of the Sadar tehsil for the last 10 days. Forget about getting justice, no administration or police officer has come to listen to their plight. The land mafia kidnapped the victim farmer and forcibly got the land registered in his name. Now they are threatening to take over the land.

The victim’s family has been sitting on an indefinite dharna in Tikonia Park since September 5 demanding registration of a case against the land mafia. It is alleged that on July 5, Ram Achal Pal, a resident of Sariyawan, was kidnapped by the land mafia of the same village and the land was forcibly transferred to his name. The missing person’s FIR has been lodged in the police station by Ram Achal’s wife.

The husband and wife are sitting on a dharna to protest against this incident but no one is listening to them. Meanwhile, the accused are trying to capture the farm of the victim’s family. They are also being threatened with death. CPI district secretary Ashok Tiwari, CPIML district in-charge Atiq Ahmed, CPI(M) district secretary Ashok Yadav and Vinod Singh met the victim’s family on Saturday.

Leftist leaders expressed anger at the insensitivity of the administration and police and said that the officers are trying to save the accused by not taking any action. That is why people with such tendencies are encroaching upon the land of the poor. If action is not taken by filing a case against the accused in time, then this will be made a big issue.
