In the case of rape of a Dalit girl in Khandasa police station area of Milkipur in Ayodhya district, the DNA test of the main accused Sahban, who is lodged in the divisional jail, will be conducted. The investigating officer of the case, Circle Officer Milkipur Shreyash Tripathi, has obtained permission from the court of Special Judge POCSO Act I Nirupama Vikram to take samples for Sahban’s DNA test.
Accused Sahban has been lodged in the divisional jail since September 6. Co-accused Manu, who was absconding, was arrested on September 10. The investigating officer demanded Manu’s judicial remand, on which the court sent Manu to jail in judicial custody.

The victim’s family had met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath just two days ago. CM Yogi had assured the government to stand with the family at every step and ensure justice. Immediately after the family met the Chief Minister, the police arrested the second accused in this case.
According to the incident, Sahaban and Manu of police station Khandasa area called the victim on some pretext. Sahaban raped her in front of Manu. After this, on September 2, Sahaban and Manu along with their companions surrounded the victim’s house. They threatened to blow up the victim’s family along with the entire village with a bomb. The victim informed the police of police station Khandasa on September 5.
On the basis of the victim’s complaint, a case was filed against Sahban and Manu under several serious sections including rape. The investigating officer of the case produced the victim in the court of Special Judge POCSO Act for recording her statement under section 164. On the orders of the judge, the victim recorded her statement before the magistrate on September 7.
Investigation officer Shreyash Tripathi said that permission has been granted by the court to take samples of accused Sehban for DNA testing. Samples are likely to be taken by this evening in the district jail by a team of doctors. Samples for the victim’s DNA test were taken during her medical examination.
