Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will present the Bharatatma Veda Award at Karsevak Puram on September 5. This award is given every year in the memory of late Ashok Singhal, who played an important role in the construction of Shri Ram temple.

During a press conference in Karsevakpuram on Tuesday, Singhal Foundation official VD Joshi said that the main objective of the award is to recognize excellence in the Vedic world. The full name of the Bharatatma Award is Bharatatma Ashokji Singhal Veda Award.

This award is being given for the last seven years. This year, the eighth Bharatatma award will be given on September 5. This award is given in three categories. In the first category, an award of three lakh rupees is given to the best Veda student. In the second category, an award of five lakh rupees is given to the ideal Veda teacher. In the third category, the Uttam Veda Vidyalaya award of seven lakh rupees is given.

Along with this, the Veddarpit Jeevan Samman is given every year to the elderly and knowledgeable scholars who have dedicated their entire life to the study and teaching of the Vedas and their Upangas and who have lived a life as prescribed by the Vedas. In this program organized at Karsevakpuram, saints, religious leaders, officials and workers associated with the Sangh Parivar and Vedic scholars along with the family of late Ashok Singhal will be present.
