Ayodhya. Due to heavy rain late on Tuesday night, many localities of the city including Ayodhya Dham were waterlogged. Water entered the houses in Jalwanpura locality once again. Household items, beds, fridges, sofas etc. were damaged in many houses. Waterlogging also occurred at Hanumangarhi intersection. Not only Rampath, traffic was disrupted on other routes due to road collapse and large potholes.
After the first rain of monsoon, the story of the fraud in the construction of these roads also came to light. The government did not show any readiness to repair the Rampath on these roads. Sand and gravel were put, but the potholes could not be filled until afternoon. On the other hand, sewer lines got choked due to waterlogging in most of the localities including Ayodhya’s Ramghat, Kausales Kunj, Devkali Rampath. Not only the main roads of the city, the condition of the localities inside is also the same. Nirala Nagar Navin Mandi, Ashwini Puram, Dhaniram Ka Purwa locality got waterlogged due to rain.
The Rikabganj road had caved in at many places on Saturday as well. The potholes were filled by putting gravel and sand. On Tuesday, the road caved in at all these places again. Apart from this, potholes also appeared on the road near Gudri Bazar, Sahabganj Police Chowki and Udaya intersection on Rampath. The road has also caved in due to rain on the old BJP office road and near the police line. The road has caved in by about two feet near Kotwali Ayodhya in Ayodhya Dham.
The road caved in near the Reedganj trisection, near the SP Rural residence in Police Line, near the Railway Station Mode and SSP residence in Civil Line, in front of the Rangmahal barrier in Ramkot. The Municipal Corporation vehicle got stuck in this pit. The VIP pass holders are allowed entry for the darshan of Ramlala from the Rangmahal barrier only. The devotees also faced problems due to the sinking of the road and waterlogging. The Jalkal premises also got flooded in the rain.
Shriram Hospital wall collapsed
Due to rain, the wall of Shriram Hospital collapsed. Due to this, water entered the emergency, X-ray room and kitchen. Hospital administrative officer YP Singh said that the wall was very old. Emergency, X-ray and ultrasound services were affected in the hospital. Patients could not be given food on time.
The pain of the residents of Jalwanpura
Jalwanpura resident Binnu Shrivastav said that the entire house was flooded. The beds got damaged due to remaining in water for several hours. The fridge has stopped working. Other household items started floating in the water. Shiv Narayan Gupta’s entire house was flooded. Household items started floating in the water. Somehow he spent the night sitting on the bed. In the morning, the water filled in the house was removed with the help of a tub and a bucket. The water could be removed after about two hours of struggle. The houses of Yogendra Tiwari and Ashutosh Mishra were also flooded. Ashutosh says that every time an assurance is given to solve the waterlogging problem in Jalwanpura, but nothing happens.
Even government offices are not spared, situation is bad
Due to rain, a tree fell inside the BSA office. Due to lack of drainage, many offices including Basic Education Director Office, PWD Office and District Veterinary Hospital have been flooded. The Police Line in Civil Line started looking like Amrit Sarovar. The same was the condition of the Electricity Department office. The power substation in Amaniganj was filled with water. The new transformers kept here also drowned in the water. The worst situation was in the city’s Dhaniram Ka Purwa, Janaura, Naka, Badi Devkali, Ashwini Puram Ward and many such mohallas and colonies.
Four buffaloes died due to lightning
