Ayodhya. The SIB of State GST raided a cement businessman located in Khandasa. During this, a fine of Rs 28 lakh was imposed on the businessman for submitting GST returns less by Rs 1 crore. This action has created a stir among the regional traders.
State GST Deputy Tax Commissioner Shriprakash Yadav said that a raid was conducted on Disha Trading Company located in Khandasa. Till March 2024, the businessman did business of Rs 8 crore, but filed GST return of Rs 7 crore. When this was confirmed during the investigation, tax evasion of Rs 28 lakh on Rs 1 crore was detected. The businessman was directed to deposit it.
The businessman deposited Rs 16 lakh out of this. Similarly, Rs 26 lakh was deposited by the owner of Vaibhav Agency, a cigarette and pan-masala establishment in Naviganj, Barabanki, after tax evasion was detected at the establishment.
